Why I'm Starting a Blog in 2026

After years in tech, I'm finally writing things down. On engineering, travel, and whatever else is on my mind.

I've been in the industry long enough to start forming opinions. Along the way I picked up a lot of knowledge that lives in my head or buried in notes no one will ever scroll back to. The transition from IC to EM alone taught me things I wish someone had written down for me in a way that felt honest and specific. Writing is a way to make that knowledge useful beyond my own circle.

Lately I've been getting back into reading and taking online leadership courses, and I wanted a place to share what I'm learning from them. Not summaries or reviews, but the ideas that actually stick and change how I think about my work.

Travel is the other big one. I've visited 25+ countries and I plan every trip obsessively. I've been giving the same advice in DMs for years, and turning that into something searchable and shareable just makes more sense.

But honestly, the biggest reason is selfish. Writing helps me think. When I try to explain something clearly enough for someone else to follow, I realize what I actually understand versus what I only think I understand. That's true whether the topic is engineering leadership, booking flights, or making a good Negroni.

I don't have a strict content plan. This blog will be whatever's on my mind: travel systems, lessons from managing engineers, things I'm learning, opinions I can't keep to myself. Some posts will be practical. Some will just be me thinking out loud.

If you're here, thanks for reading. More soon.
