About me

Hi, I'm Doruk. Engineering Manager at Pinterest, based in San Francisco. I've been at Pinterest for six years, growing from intern to tech lead to EM, building products that reach hundreds of millions of people.

I enjoy building high impact products just as much as I enjoy leading the teams that ship them. My current focus is creating high-performing teams that ship meaningful work. Right now I'm deep into what it actually means to be a great engineering leader. Still figuring it out.

Outside work, I'm drawn to experiences. I travel often, fast-paced and well-planned, mixing great food, unique activities, and places that feel authentic rather than overly polished. The same applies to eating and drinking: I'm as happy perfecting a burger at home as I am hunting down a standout restaurant or a hidden cocktail bar somewhere new.

I love picking up new things: a sport, a skill, something I know nothing about yet. I keep a bucket list for exactly this, and lately that's meant ice skating. I also can't help but over-research everything before committing: trips, recipes, gear. It's a feature, not a bug.
